Why the sheet cutting calculator is useful
Sheet cutting has to satisfy width and height at the same time, so mistakes are easier to make than with simple length cutting. The Cutting CALC sheet calculator helps you review sheet size, blade thickness, edge margin, and rotation rules before cutting.
Reduce wastePreview how parts fit on the sheet and spot unused or insufficient areas before the job starts.
Check the plan earlyFind missing dimensions, wrong quantities, and rotation constraints before material is cut.
Prepare cutting workUse names, dimensions, colors, and result drawings to organize the cutting sequence.
Important settings
- Sheet width and height: Enter the actual size of plywood, MDF, acrylic, aluminum composite panels, or other sheet material.
- Blade thickness: This is the material lost during cutting. It should be included because it accumulates across multiple cuts.
- Edge margin: Use it when you need to avoid damaged edges, reserve machining allowance, or keep space for clamps.
- Rotation: Lock rotation when grain, pattern, or surface direction matters. Allow rotation when direction does not matter and you want better layout efficiency.
Common use cases
It is helpful for cabinet shelves, desktops, furniture panels, signage boards, acrylic covers, CNC preparation, and small-batch plywood cutting. Reviewing the layout first can reduce rework, material purchases, and last-minute dimension checks at the shop.
